CHER SUPPORTS CHAZ AT THE GLAAD AWARDS!
Cher attended the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night to support her son Chaz Bono, who was being honored with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which is handed out to a gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender entertainer for promoting equality. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant was also honored for his OWN documentary Becoming Chaz. Also honored at the GLAAD awards were Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who accepted the award for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson, who received the Vanguard Award, for his organization Straight But Not Narrow.
MARISKA HARGITAY SIGNS ON FOR ANOTHER SEASON!
For Another Season! Mariska Hargitay AKA Detective Olivia Benson has penned a deal with Universal Television that locks in the fiery actress for a potential 14th season of NBC’s Law and Order: Special Victim’s Unit. But this doesn’t guarantee the show's return! While the show’s ratings have consistently slipped, Mariska stands firm behind the new cast additions, and her character’s story changes: "This new cast came on, and I had no idea what to expect — and we had a new show runner. The show this year is awesome and different and has gone into different areas, and I get to play different things; my own story of having a boyfriend after 13 years. … My character has gone on this unbelievable personal journey that is both reflected in her persona life and the storylines."
TIMES SQUARE TO HONOR DICK CLARK!
Dick Clark may have died Wednesday, but he’ll be a part of at least one more New Year’s Eve in Times Square. The Times Square Alliance announced Friday that fans will now be able to submit memories and tributes to the broadcasting legend which will be printed on pieces of confetti that will be used to shower midtown Manhattan when the ball drops at midnight December 31st. Submissions can be made online, or at the Times Square Visitor Center & Museum.
OBAMA TO GUEST ON FALLON!
Barack Obama is going after the youth vote, and has scheduled an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The President will appear as a guest tomorrow, in an episode that will tape at the University of North Carolina. Dave Matthews will be the night’s musical guest.
