CEO of the American Cable Association, Matt Polka joins the show!
Matt Polka is responsible for the daily affairs of the American Cable Association, a national trade association dedicated to serving 900 independent telecom businesses providing broadband internet, phone and video to 7.6 million subscribers in smaller markets, competitive and rural areas. ACA represents its members before Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, other federal agencies and in the 50 states.
The Association helps independent cable stay competitive through a policy framework that (1) recognizes the unique circumstances of smaller and medium-sized independent companies; (2) provides for regulatory and financial parity with competitors; and, (3) encourages access to financial markets.
Mr. Polka, a frequent speaker throughout the telecommunications industry and advocate for ACA's members and customers, was named in 2009 a “Cable Television Pioneer.” He has been a member of the CableFAX 100 for seven years and in 2008 received an "Excellence in Leadership" Award from the Board of the American Cable Association. In 2010 he was named by Multichannel News as one of its Top 30 Policymakers in the cable and telecommunications industries.
